Axiomatic Typeface & Exhibition

Overview
Axiomatic is a typeface created as a vehicle to explore typographic form through multiple mediums, methods, and thought processes.
Created for my senior exhibition at MCAD, Axiomatic allowed me to explore freely and express my love for geometric form, organic composition and experimental typography.
The typeface's identity lies in its geometric alternative characters that add versatility and variety to Axiomatic as a whole.
Approach
I set out to create a highly functional geometric typeface. Taking inspiration from foundries like Grilli type and Oh No Type Co, and learning from historic typefaces like Futura, I began to sketch, research, iterate, and experiment.
The final exhibition consisted of 11 experimental posters, an alphabet of manipulated letterforms, and three books detailing process, experimentation, and implementation of Axiomatic.
